I-10 Reconstruction - Desert Center to Wileys Well Rest Area
The 30- mile reconstruction of I-10 between Desert Center, CA and the Wiley’s Well Rest Area outside of Blythe, CA completely rehabilitated one of Southern California most critical economic corridors. The project consisted of the complete removal and replacement of the existing interstate as well as implementing significant corridor safety improvements, including retrofitting 46 bridges.
Under the leadership of one of SAMA’s Resident Engineers and Sr. Construction Inspectors, the project not only placed 355,000 CY of concrete and 450,000 Tons of HMA but successfully implemented the largest Value Engineering Cost Proposal in Caltrans History.
